REACHING THE LEAST, LOST AND LOOKED-OVER
BEARING ONE ANOTEHR'S BURDENS

GSJ Care is designed to support families who call us home by stepping into their lives in the midst of hard circumstances, fulfilling tangible and spiritual needs in hard spaces.

We are also passionate about supporting, loving, and encouraging our volunteers, staff, and missionary partners, making sure they feel seen, remembered, and appreciated.

OUR VISION

Scripture calls us as fellow believers and members of the same local church body to be there for one another, mourning and celebrating together as well as seeing and caring for each other’s needs. In doing this, we glorify God.

We focus our care on individuals and families who have called GSJ Nashville home for a few months as it is a part of cultivating a relationship within our local church body. If you are new to GSJ Nashville and are currently in the midst of a hard space, we would love to pray with you.

PRAYER

Let us Pray for You

One of the most powerful and beautiful things we can do for one another is pray. Through it, we share needs, losses, sorrows, hopes, victories, thanksgiving, and celebrations. The Bible is full of stories of its power. And the letters to the church found in the New Testament encourage us, again and again, to not neglect it as it brings healing, provision, and enriches our hearts and souls with strength, hope, wisdom, and faith (James 5:13-16Ephesians 6:181 Timothy 2:11 Thessalonians 5:16-18Philippians 4:6Colossians 4:2, etc.).

Our deacons, pastor, and elders believe it’s an essential part of their calling to faithfully pray for the people of GSJ Nashville. We also have a Prayer Team that meets faithfully throughout the week to pray over every one of our community’s needs and praises as they’re made known. We would love for you to share yours with us.

VISITATION

Find Encouragement in Good Company

Sometimes we need an encouraging word or presence to just sit and be with us. Visitations are designed for GSJ Nashville ministerial team and Deacons to encourage, visit with, and pray alongside individuals in the hospital, homebound, or living in an assisted living or rehabilitation center.

If you or someone you know needs a visitation, please let us know.

BEREAVEMENT

Support in Times of Grief

The Bereavement team walks alongside families who are experiencing grief in several different ways.

If there has been a death within your family, please let us know, and our Bereavement team will reach out to you. If you would like to request a Celebration of Life Service, please contact our Overseer of Care for more information

Care for Others Experiencing Loss

Volunteers are needed to serve these families on the day of a Celebration of Life service. Serving may include creating slideshows or running tech to something as simple as holding the door open for guests.

Alternatively, if you have experienced grief firsthand and would like to provide wrap-around care to families coming after you, we would love to match you to an appropriate family. Please understand this journey may be painful as you look back to your own loss by helping those currently walking through loss. This could be the loss of a parent, child, spouse, sibling, or friend.
